So yes, pop music can be vapid, but it still amazes me how many people it takes to create those vapid songs. Here, presented in lyric video form, is a bit from my latest live album, Rob P. Rocks A Jazz Club, about the corporate hellscape that is Top 40 music.
Starting with the catchy, Latin-appropriated “Havana” and following with the 3-chord bludgeoning of “The Middle” by—who even knows who actually wrote it—this bit clearly expresses my rage at the songs that are shoved down our throat every year.
Enjoy!
