The long post-production journey for Tell Your Friends! The Concert Film! will come to an end with the film’s December 4th release! After premiering at the SXSW Festival in 2011, being featured at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and Chicago, and screened at the Paley Center in New York, the film will now be available to anyone and everyone via streaming services and a special DVD/CD Soundtrack available on indie comedy boutique label A Special Thing Records.
You can save the film in your Netflix queue right now, and the more people that do, the more actual DVDs will be available in a given area. And the DVD/CD released by A Special Thing Records will feature bonus content including extra interviews, performances not included in the film, and a drunken commentary track featuring a few Tell Your Friends! regulars.
(Update December 3, 2012: The release party has been canceled, but the release of the movie is still on!)
To celebrate the release of the film, which features performances by Rob Paravonian, Reggie Watts, Kristen Schaal & Kurt Braunohler, Christian Finnegan, Leo Allen and Liam McEneaney, we’re having a big release show and party at the Bell House in Brooklyn, where the concert was filmed, and it’s going to be quite the blowout! Performers include: The Daily Show’s Wyatt Cenac, Aaron Freeman from the band Ween, Christian Finnegan, director of the film Victor Varnado, Liam McEneaney, Rob Paravonian and more!
Info is below, and here’s a link to the facebook event page, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Enjoy the movie!
