Get ready to rock, Detroit, Rock City, because I’m heading to town at the end of March for a showcase at the Laugh Detroit Comedy Festival.
Okay, so the shows are actually taking place in Royal Oak, MI, but that’s because that’s where host club Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle is located as well as the Royal Oak Music Theater, which will host the opening and closing night galas. I’ll be on the bill Tuesday night with a great lineup of comics along with wonderful hosts Brian McKim and Traci Skene, whom you’ve seen on the most recent season of Last Comic Standing, among other places.
Due to the showcase format I’ll be doing a quick 7-minute set alongside of a lot of other great comics doing 7-minute sets. If you’ve never seen a showcase before, it’s really fun: you get to see a wide variety of comedians doing some of their best material. Factor in the $10 admission and these showcase nights are some of the best comedy deals you’ll find.
